Airport travel with children and luggage: a simple planning guide

Families often need more vehicle space than expected. Include every passenger, bag, pushchair and child-seat requirement when requesting a quote, so safe suitability can be checked before a journey is confirmed.

Plan with confidence

What to do before you travel.

01

List every item

Count cabin bags, large suitcases, pushchairs, folded travel cots and other large items. This helps avoid an unsuitable vehicle.

02

Explain child-seat needs

Say how many seats are needed and each child’s age and approximate size. A child seat request is subject to availability and must be confirmed before the journey.

03

Choose comfort wisely

A more premium category is not automatically larger. Vehicle size and luggage capacity need checking separately, especially for families and return airport trips.

Helpful answers

Common questions.

Can I bring my own child seat?

Tell us in advance. The operator can then consider it when confirming the vehicle and journey arrangements.

Can a suitcase go on a seat?

No. Luggage must not block seats or seat belts. Tell us about all luggage first so the right vehicle can be confirmed.

Does a pushchair count as luggage?

Yes. Include it as a special requirement, along with its size and whether it folds.

Quote requests do not confirm a booking. The authorised TfL-licensed partner operator confirms availability, price and booking terms.
